Default Cambridge C500 lacks clarity on left channel

I joined some Tannoy M1's to my C500/P500 setup last night. Have been

Because it was late I could only drive them at very low volume but its
noticeable how clear the right channel is compared to the left. I havnte
wound up the volume yet to test at quater/half volume for example so I don't
know if it will be noticeable then.

I'm sure its the Pre Amp rather than the Power Amp because if I change the
linking RCAs around (have tried another pair too) the problem moves over to
the other channel, so that rules out the power amp.

Do you think Cambridge would accept that as a fault being that the volume is
only just coming off of 0. I'm wondering if they would say that comparable
results between the left and right channels cant be taken unless there is a
reasonable amount of volume going through the system.

Seems to be a "feature" of Cambridge amps ... I noted the same with an
A1 last night (attempting to listen to something at
not-waking-up-the-family-levels). Only difference was that I was
getting a clear sound through the *left* channel, and not much at all
through the right (which spring into life when I turned the volume up
a couple of degrees).
