Default Marantz PM7200 question

Hi Rob! Thanks for your advice but it doesnt work sadly! The toens bypass
does indeed need to be defeated for a signal to go out to the sub however
even then the level of the subs amp is not controlleable. I ahve to adjust
the level on the back of the sub all the time.

Any other ideas?

Sorry Jon, that's about it from me. I did intend to use mine as a preamp
at one point, but never got round to testing it. I assume that the
equaliser loop is just a line level signal that gets mangled by an
equaliser before it gets to the volume control.

What you want is a line signal that goes via the volume control - I'd
guess the 7200 doesn't do that (in fact I remember reading a review that
criticised the lack of preamp out).

Hi!

I ahve a PM7200 to which I ahve hooked up a Gale Storm 10 inch sub by
putting a Y cable into the pre-power links at the back of the amp. However I
am unable to control the level of the sub in this way. I really want to be
able to control the sub from the amp using the line level input on the sub.
Does anyone know why this isnt working for me?

TIA

I *think* those sockets are for an equaliser loop, and they operate via
the tone controls. So you need to make sure that the tone controls are
in circuit (Direct is 'off'). Well, might be worth a try.
