Try RS Components. Ring them on 01536 201 201 and ask for a catalogue/CD.

You can ask them for a cat, but they won't supply you unless you're a
trade customer who's going to spend *a lot*.

For a paper cat, try a suitable local business - they'll usually be
pleased to get rid of their old ones as a new one comes out several times
a year.

good advice, thanks!

They do however have a 'consumer' associate company.

Electromail? I don't think they exist anymore.

Anyone with a credit card can buy from the RS website, though. You simply
have to register first. But they do have a minimum order.

Farnell accept credit card orders, and there's no minimum quantity.
AFAIK, they'll send the CD of the cat to private buyers, but I guess you
might have to pay for the paper ones.

Do the RS trade counters still refuse to sell over-the-counter to
private buyers?

You need to have an account to refer to, even if paying cash. Some say
once you've registered on the web site your reference number will do, but
I've not tried this.

FWIW, it's not RS being stroppy, but planning consent regs for where
their counters are situated. They say. Why this is any different with the
PM next door, though...

They have a big notice to this effect at their Southampton trade
counter. When I collected an order place on their Web site a few days
ago, this paperwork had "Proof of trading required" in large letter on
it. This was not, however, demanded.
