Understanding word ending low level consonants is the key to speech
intelligibility. Typically these sound peak around 1.5 to 2.5 kHz.
That's why the Peutz equation (%ALcons) uses 2 kHz for initial
evaluations.

Don't know what's typical, but the KEF specs for the B110 and T27 pairing
give a crossover frequency of 3.5KHz. FR of the tweeter is 900Hz. The 3-way
version with the B139 bass driver uses the same crossover point for the
mid/top.
