brought out my old 2950 LD and have connected it to my sony strdb1080
via the optical but can't get dts sound any help?

Make sure the audio on the Pioneer LD is set to digital. Also the digital
audio level must be set to maximum and audio selection is set to STEREO (not
1/L or 2/R) otherwise dts doesn't work.

Set the Sony to AUTO FORMAT DECODE.
