Looking for bass sound that makes people feel squeezy or irritated
Hello,
apparently there are certain low frequency bass sounds that make people feel
squeezy or irritated. Anyone know, where I might find those on the net?
Thanks,
Jens

Make your own. Use an audio editor to halve the playback speed of your
favourite bassy tracks, or just to generate sine waves at 15 to 30Hz.
The problem is finding a speaker that will generate decent levels at low
frequencies
although I found that while tuning a bass-reflex cabinet, less than 1v
at 20Hz
across a 4ohm driver was nauseating.
You could use a Harley with drag pipes at tickover.

That's an urban myth [1]. High frequencies can cause headaches however.

Resonant frequency of the human body is approx 7Hz. There have been cases in
the past where bad bearings on ventillation / airco fans have generated such
infrasound frequencies, and caused whole office blocks of people to feel
unwell and irritated. You could try looking up " sick building syndrome " or
similar combinations of words. I think this or something like this is the
name that they gave to whole buildings where people never seem to feel well,
and infrasonic vibration is one of the reasons that has been postulated in
the past for this effect .

ISTR a TV prog a long time ago about the French I think developing a big
horn thing that operated at about 7Hz that resonated with people's chest
cavities and did all sorts of nasty things to their insides.

Go and see a band called sunno))) play live. I felt like Darth Vader was
using his force choke on me.
They've been reported as causing spectators to run to the toilets with loss
of bowel control on several occasions and most people who go to see them say
that their eyeballs vibrate at some point during the gig.

How would I do that? What programmes can I use that are shareware?
