I have been wondering if that's the "right" general
approach these days
to have smaller main speakers and a subwoofer (or two)
rather than
trying to get all of the audio spectrum from one pair
of bigger boxes.

A colleague of mine is seriously considering a pair of
Lowthers
powered by his valve amp, with a pair of subwoofers and
SS
amp to look after the low end. This too might prove to
be a
very good solution. I bet its only a matter of time
before our
Keith gets round to trying that too:-)

OK. Next step. Put your SS powered subbie (or two)
into a system with a pair of Lowthers driven by your
SET.
You clearly have the carpentry skills, so I am wagering
its only a matter of time:-)
Now that*will* be a thread:-)
