The two sets of three little decorative tiles that trim the corners of
the custom-built cooker hood made me twitch - sixty bluddy squids for
six tiles! OTOH, I got the whacking great stainless steel splashback
behind the cooker made for me by a local sheet metal workers, cost 40
quid rather than the 150 that Smeg wanted for an inferior one that
wouldn't have fitted properly...................
Smeg... :-)
Head.......
Yup, there's no way I'd have the big '50s style fridge with SMEG in
two-inch high letters across the front!

Aaaah, Spinal Tap. The original amplifier that turned up to '11'! :-)
And you can't beat a properly exploded drummer!
I'm sure Keith won't mistake feet for inches in his speaker cabinet plans.
Bugger...
I wish you had posted that earlier - I have just sent a cheque off for the
scaffolding....!!

Swim chose Zanussi stuff for some reason (appearance as much as anything I
think) but it was an eye-opener to see how many of these 'names' are all
from the one conglomerate - Electrolux initially, Zanussi ultimately..!!

I got one of those electric tile cutters when I did the kitchen.
I'd never used on, but they are amazing gadgets - for those who've not
used one, you can easily make 45-degree mitre cuts, to join tiles on
window-ledge and wall!
Yup - and cut a few mm sliver off a tile and have both bits still intact.
One of the best DIY tools ever.
Heartily agree - diamonds are forever! :-)

Smeg and Zanussi are both I believe from Northern Italy, so you
wouldn't be suprised if there's some 'platform sharing' under the
skin................

Except they aren't when they get rubbed off in normal use.
I've got one of those little wet saws too. The blades are
under $20.
