CPC might be able to help out - they're at http://cpc.farnell.com. I did a
quick search on Aiwa and there appear to be quite a few tape-deck-related
bits (belts, capstans, pinch wheels, motors, etc). The only issue is -
which one. (there may be a drive model number stamped on the deck
mechanism)

I'm afraid I can't help with the how-to part, though I've replaced the
belt
and drive motor on a TCK-611 and, though fiddly, it's not too difficult.

Sorry I'm not being as helpful as I'd like: I did this belt change a couple
of years ago. I've been searching through my records but unfortunately I
can't find out where I got the belts. I do remember the new belts seemed
quite small and needed to be stretched quite a lot to fit them on. I'll
keep looking, and if I find the info I'll let you know.
I'm really writing to encourage you to persevere in fixing the machine. I
recently bought some new equipment in an attempt to fit my hi-fi into a
smaller space. The new cassette deck looked very smart, but the sound
quality was total rubbish in comparison with the old Aiwa. The main
difference is in wow and flutter. So I decided to find a space to keep the
Aiwa after all. Ideally I would use the Aiwa to transfer the tapes to CD,
but life is too short.
