Got me one o' them, thar Eyum-pee-three playahs! I can't stand the little
earbud things - too uncomfortable and tend to fall out. I prefer the
lightweight headphone style ones with the band going round the back of the
neck.
I currently have a pair of the latter, which came with a cheapie CD walkman
(and cost a total of 15 quid in Asda). They're okay, but I want a second
pair of phones (leave one pair at work, keep one at home). I notice Asda are
doing some Philips 'neckband' phones for 15 quid - are these likely to be
any good, in the sense that they'll be noticably better than the cheapies
that came with the CD walkman? Or do I have to spend far too much to get a
noticable improvement?
The player is a Creative Zen Nano Plus (1meg, half price in Argos for 50
quid - cheaper than the 512K! - going fast, get 'em while they're 'ot). MP3
encoding ranges from 128/192 for troffed stuff, and 256 for my own rips.
