Turntables? Legacy retro-technology. The LP playback process has primary
technological limitations built into the vinyl itself. Nobody has ever
figured out how to substantially exceed them.
anybody who has a collection of Vinyl has goods reason to keep and play it
as best as they can.
even if its just to sample it into a PC, clean it up and put onto CDR.
one thing about anybody sitting on a decent collectiuon of Vinyl,
is that its worth money, and everytime you play one, you lessen its value to
collectors.
all that damage done by the needle and the dust in the grooves,
you can almost hear the dynamic range drop each time a LP plays

how many play times before a LP gets as good as brown tape?
