I know this may prompt cry's of "but you like SET's why do you want
one of those", but I don't suppose anyone here in the UK has a
unwanted HP
334 or such like that they would consider exchanging for a sensible
sum of money? I have been watching on ebay for some time, but can't
talk myself into paying the shipping from the states where they all
seem to be.

or perhaps an HP/Agilent 8903B or one of their dynamic signal
analysers from someone like Livingston Hire. None are cheap options
though! HP334's? They bring back memories.

The 334A is certainly a cheap option. One does not see
them often, but they go for about UKP50.
I had two. I bought a third for spares, and
it turned out to be better than the original pair:-)

The Ferograph is more expensive but a more
comprehensive unit, and therefore a better buy IMO.

I suppose a further option would be a PC based audio spectrum analyser. I
don't know much about them apart from their existence. I would guess that
the s/w may handle THD & maybe also intemod as well. I don't know if a
programmable source is included, an option or separate. Intermod would
obviously require 2 tones.

Some look to use your existing sound card for FFT based analysis using its
ADC. Bit depth will have a big impact on resolution.
