Default Splicing tape

Is it still possible to get splicing tape for joining magnetic tape?
I have had a search with Google and I can only find tape for splicing
other things.

I have a ReVox A77 tape recorder and 26 10½" tapes and 10 7" tapes and
I only need a small roll for the occasional splice when accidents
occur. I am not doing extensive editing.

I used to have a small roll but I cannot find it and I think I may
have thrown it away because it became unusable with age.

TIA
David

David,

I have the remains of a small reel if 1/2" splicing tape you're welcome to
have if it's of any use. It's old but still sticky. I used to use it
diagonally across a splice, and trim of the excess. As I don't have a R-R
machine any more, it's of no use to me, I was just keeping it "in case it
comes in handy" like now?

If you email me your postal address, I can put it in the post.

S.

I have replied directly to Serge accepting this kind offer.

My thanks to Dave and Keith for their responses.

eBay currently has the following in diffent widths and all for quite cheap
money:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/New-1-4-Audio-...QQcmdZViewItem

And even a splicing machine if you want one:

Or perhaps you could adapt a fibre optic splicing machine like my son's one:

- a snip at only 2 grand from eBay!! ;-)

(16K new, I'm told....???)

This is the one needed.

The A77 has a splicing block built in, so just needs 1/4 ticky tape. But
it's a dreadful machine to edit on as you can't get at the heads to mark
the edit point.

Quantegy still makes splicing tapes in all widths. Just go
to your local pro audio store and ask for it.
