Default DVD MP3

Should I be able to burn MP3 to DVD and play them in the TV DVD player? They
will play on the PC DVD player.

I can burn video DVD's and play them (Panasonic) and CD MP3's and play them.

Playing MP3s from a DVD is highly unlikely in most DVDPs, but I don't say it
can't be done. I have a Cyberhome that I think *might* do it - I will check
it shortly and report back here.

(Although I have to query the true *usefulness* of summat like 200 hours of
continuous music playback on a single disk....??)

OK. The Cyberhome certainly *does* play MP3s from a DVD. Navigation is a
PITA - it doesn't seem to be able to play through directories and comes to a
full stop at the end of a directory (album). Also my estimate of 200 hours
was a bit wild - probably more like 30-40 continuous from a single disk at
128 and up.

So, *doable* if nothing else....???

Will it play MP3s in random order? My player will only do that with
WAVs, and I have no idea why.

Yep - see:

But only in the one directory - I expect it would be OK if all the files
were in the root also.

The two main nigs with the navigation (from what I can see) is that you
can't 'prenavigate' - you have to stop the track that's playing to go back
out of the directory you are in and the lists won't scroll with just holding
the button down - you have to keep pressing the damn thing!

Certainly useful for more than a whole day's playing without
attendance/attention - like in a restaurant or summat??
