If you *had* a functioning brain, you'd be aware that Bose
manufactures lots of weatherproof drivers for car audio, none of which
have 'plain paper' cones. You'd also be aware of the fact that you
conveniently sidestepped - Bose upgrades for Audis do have tweeters.
Basically, you have no clue what you're talking about, which is pretty
much SOP for you, TCS.

He's quite an obnoxious t**t this Stewart Pinkerton, isn't he?! Some of the
comments and criticisms he makes are quite abusive IMHO.

Perhaps, but they are also accurate..................

What *I* find obnoxious, are ****s who spew ******** without having
any clue what they are talking about.

To be fair, the new V6 TT includes pretty much everything as

*is* a shame it's about the only thing they don't offer as standard

Hmmmmmmmm. Sorry, but we live in Leicestershire and have family in
North-East Scotland. We go 'oop north' in the A6, not the TT. The A6
3.0 Quattro Sport does have cruise control, and it's a quiet and
refined cruiser, which the TT is not.

...as I mentioned ealier, when compared to my Caterham the TT is a
paragon of silence and refinement :-))))

OK, fair enough, my wife's TT wouldn't even see which way a Caterham
went! :-)

Given the general negative vibe about Bose products on this ng I was
wondering if anyone has any experience of living with Bose car audio
products?

Generally, Bose car audio is very good. Mobile audio has technological needs
in areas where Bose is historically (but not now uniquely) very strong.
Unlike virtually every other rebrander of car audio components (that's what
many well-known brands are - rebranders of product actually made by third
parties) Bose has a lot of control over the sound quality of the final
product.

I would think that Bose would be very competitive in the European market
because they actually take car audio very seriously, unlike most European
car manufacturers. Some European manufacturers have realized that they don't
have very good car audio technology and upgrade their sound systems for sale
in the US market. In the US car audio is taken very seriously and is
generally more highly advanced.

In the US a $50,000 car with a mediocre sound system is often considered to
be unsalable. In Europe, this same kind of product is widely available under
a number of well-known brand names.

Yes, but there again Europe - and especially the UK - generally has radio
stations that are worth listening to!
