Default Help please -Complete Idiots question?

Reading the various postings I realise that this question is beneath you all
but I'm also sure someone can help me.
I've just bought a cheap turntable as my LPs were gathering dust. It's a
Bush MTT1 and works fine except for the connection to the AUX on my compact
CD. This is a JVC FS-SD9R. The Bush turntable has an MM amp .This is
switched on. I get vertually nothing with it switched off!
Now that's about as technical as I get!
The audio plugs from the turntable are 2 x jack plugs(red and white. I'm
sure U get the picture) . Now when I plug them into the in and out sockets
of the CD's MD/aux -out/in terminals I get perfect sound but only from ONE
speaker?
So the idiot question is " how do I get stereo"?

Plug the two jack plugs into the IN terminals only!
