Dear all,
I'm looking for some new speakers for Cyrus 8VS amp and 8X CD player.
I've been happi;y looking through web sites but can't really fathom the
ProAc speakers.
There is a Studio 110 now as well as the tried and trusted 100. Why?
Why do they make two such similar speakers (vis a vis, size, frequency
response and price)? The web pages are
http://www.proac-loudspeakers.com/studio100.php and
http://www.proac-loudspeakers.com/studio110.php.
I see the 110s are mentioned as front ported but it looks from the
photos as if the 100s are as well. Is that true? Front ports would be
good for me as I'd like to keep them quite close to a wall. However, I
see from the What Hifi review
(
http://www.proac-loudspeakers.com/p16.pdf) that they say:
"However, put the Studio 110s ... well out into the room with a touch
of toe-in, and they'll shine brighter than just about anything else
at this price" so this suggest that they shouldn t be next to a wall.
Maybe they're talking about a side as opposed to back wall?
Can anybody help with these points please? Anybody already use these
speakers with Cyrus kit? Any suggestions or comments appreciated.
regards,
John
