**As usual, you ignore the actual points I made, preferring to
interpret my words in a way which suits your own twisted purpose.

Me twisted? You're squirming around like an oiled snake on ice....

OK, tell me if I've missed anything...

**I just did. read it again, if you (still) don't understand.

It changes all the time - see below.....

**Nope. Only your reading of what I write alters. You continually
misinterpret the most basic of English statements.

I should have spent twice the money on a bigger amp?

**IF you wanted sound quality which would have easily surpassed even the
most exotic of valve amps, yes. IF you wanted an amp which is genuinely
very good, yes. IF you had the readies, yes.

Note the added 'IFs' - weren't there before...

**Oh really? Try reading my first comment again.

Chinese products are crap unless they are Rotel.

**Are you making a statement?

Wake up you dozy ****, I'm checking your statements back with you.....

**Given that I made no such statements, I can't possibly see why you would
attempt to attribute those words to me. Do you think that what I wrote
magically dissappears and cannot be easily located?

If so, I dissagree. I have seen many decent
quality Chinese products, which are not branded Rotel. I have also seen
many crap Chinese (and non-Chinese) products.

Not what you said earlier....

**Indeed. You didn't ask for clarification.

Chinese transformers are just crap.

**I dissagree. Chinese OUTPUT transformers, which are not interleaved are
crap. ANY output transformer which is not interleaved is crap.

Another little twist....

**Oh really? Wanna bet? I have been VERY consistent in my disdain for any
non-interleaved output transformers. You know; the ones in cheap, Chinese
valve amps. OTOH, YOU have managed to ignore my comments about OUTPUT
transformers and make it an all-inclusive "transformers" comment. Once more
and for the record: I have no issue with *any* properly designed output
transformers, regardless of their origin. What we do not see on cheap,
Chinese valve amps, are properly designed OUTPUT (note the emphasis)
transformers.

A little over 300 quid is overpriced for a 300B SET...

**A little over 300 Squid for a badly performing amplifier, is
overpriced. ALL SET amplifiers are overpriced, for the performance
delivered. A similarly equipped push pull amp will:

* Deliver more power.
* Be far more load tolerant.
* Be lower is distortion.
* Cost less.

Or it won't.....

**Sure it will. Every time.

An SS amp costing twice the price of another will be better.

**Not necessarily. There are a number of poorly designed, expensive SS
amps, just as there are a number of poorly designed, expensive valve
amps. Your cheap, Chinese valve amps fall into the latter class.

Classic Wilson twist - the statement starts off SS and turns into another
stupid remark about valve amps he's never heard...!!

**Wrong. I have heard several cheap, Chinese valve amps (ca: AUS$1,000.00).
They were crap sounding and crappily designed and built.

A valve amp costing twenty times the price of another will be a lot
better.

**Not necessarily. However, IF you are SPECIFICALLY referring to an ARC
VT100, compared to a cheap, Chinese amp, which does not use an
interleaved output transformer, then yes.

You introduced the VT100 to the argument. You do seem to need the safety
of a *very big number* to win an argument, don't you???

**Not at all. I simply find the VT100 to be an exceptionally fine,
uncoloured amplifier. It rates as a benchmark for other amplifiers to be
judged by.

False truisms are made in China.

**Perhaps. False truisms are certainly routinely stated by you.

Like what? A specific example would be useful here....

**Just take almost any of the comments which you have attributed to me,
which were not uttered by me. Let's get VERY specific, however. Let's
discuss my comments about poorly designed OUTPUT transformers, which you
have magically interpreted as me saying (to paraphrase): "All Chinese
transformers are crap."

**As usual, no. Go read what I wrote, not what you imagined I wrote, in
your own privately deluded mind.

???

**Very straightforward. I am not surprised that you are unable to figure out
my words (again).

Frankly, for an English speaking person, you seem to have enormous
difficulty in understanding what I am saying. Is it me? Am I poorly
conveying some pretty basic stuff to you?

Yep.

Or is English your second
language?

Yiss, me first langwidge is Strine......

Trevor, what's the terrain like where you live? The Beatles' track 'Fool
On The Hill' always comes to mind when I read your weird stuff....

(Serves me right for hijacking an Arcam thread, I suppose....??)

**Yep.
