Rogers kit any good?
 

I'm being offered:

Roger A75 Panthera Amp
Rogers T75 Tuner

in a proposed swap - is this kit any good? If so, any idea of what it would
be worth, assuming fully serviceable and reasonably smart condition?

(I've no experience of it myself, but I have an inkling the tuner's fairly
well regarded??)

Just been reading the instructions - *love* this bit:

"Persons fitted with heart pacemakers are advised not to handle these drive
units."

:-))

(No wonder most Yanks over 35 don't like 'em....!! ;-)

That's almost as good as the phrase "Beware - danger of amputation!" I saw
in connection with some seriously strong industrial magnets on the telly one
time!!

components, but there's one piece which deserves more attention: his
Behringer Ultracurve Equalizer. We used it extensively during the
listening sessions, and it was a very valuable tool. One very
important trait is that it does not alter sound in any way. It is
impossible to tell wether it is in the signal chain or not. "

More important question, now: What colour?

Errrmmmm.... Lowther.

Oh, and the pacemaker thing? You put them into test mode with a
permanent magnet.

The A75 Mk 2 (don't know about the "Panthera" bit) was priced at £
169.50 + VAT in 1979. A Quad 303/33 pair with the same output power (45
W per ch) was £ 207.00 + VAT.

A Cambridge Audio P80 was £ 199 + VAT and an Armstrong 621 was £ 120 + VAT.

This may give you some idea where the Rogers fitted into the scheme of
things at the time.

At a guess, the amp is worth £ 50-£ 80 and the tuner £ 30-£50 on Ebay.
