He's been gone for two months without saying goodbye.
It's not the same place without the dear old fellow.
Perhaps you should do the obvious
send a detective to look for him ))

Good riddance to the biggoted, racist, inflammotary **** I say. It's a
better place without him.
Well, if nothing else, at least Pinky could spell!! ;-)
I disagree - it is a much more boring place without him. Sure he
stirred things up here, but when trading insults he was just as much
sinned against as sinning.
No, I think you'll find Pinky usually started the insults and almost always
deserved the responses he got - like poor parents, many people only see the
'retaliatory blow' and a robust *defence* will usually be branded as
'aggressive' in the end...
If he has a "failing" it is one of not
suffering fools gladly. Vanilla ice cream and magnolia coloured walls
are not to my taste - I prefer a little spice and colour.
Yet your tone throughout the interminable crapfests was usually one of
moderation?

Didn't spot that - not like me!

Usually, sure - but not always, by a long way.

Generally I could just stand back and admire. But I prefer my spices
to be of other flavours. I mostly stay polite (although I wasn't
particularly to Porky this morning - but then he deserved it).

Yes he was entertaining but knew f*ck all about HIFI and especially
about music. When I read that he thought the Beatles CDs sound better
than the original LPs I knew he really had no idea at all.
He offfered no constructive arguement, just insults.

Must be talking about a different Stewart Pinkerton. The one I'm
thinking of knew massive amounts about Hi Fi - does have some strange
ideas of what sounds good at times, though.

Pinkie had more knowlege and experience related to audio and electronics in
his little finger than most have all together, as compared to the average
Usenet poster. He shared it quite willingly, but didn't suffer with arrogant
fools.

And blew away his audience. Net result? - He cancelled himself out most of
the time!!
Jokes, news and 'advice' - it's all pretty much the same, it's not what you
say so much as the way that you say it.....

He didn't suffer with most that disagreed with him, full stop. I just
had a quick google to see where he's gone. Assuming for one moment the
posts that come up are genuine Pinkerton, I'm not surprised he's keeping
a low profile.

No good deed ever goes unpunished.
I saw him recently buying a new CD player and some Nordost Valhalla, he
also had a big bag of records.
