Swapped it over, put the same CD on we'd just been listening to... "Bloody
hell!" Yes, indeed it did make a difference, we both heard it quite
clearly. Improved imaging and a much less muddy sound.

How come there are NEVER and stories that start *Once upon a time we changed
over to these high dollar interconnects and they sounded like s#!t.* All
these interconnect and speaker wire stories always have a happy ending.

Actually the first time I heard someone going on about interconnects he
was using a Monster Interlink 100. I swapped it for the freebie one and
couldn't hear any difference.

The interesting thing is when he came back into the room and put a CD on
he said "what's wrong with that, it's gone all flat?" then looked round
the back... and saw I'd swapped the interconnects over.

He'd been in the other room making a coffee at the time and had no idea
I was fiddling around behind his hi-fi.

On that occasion I didn't hear a difference (his system at the time was
an Aiwa XC-300, Technics SU-VX600 and TDL RTL1 speakers) but clearly he
did as the example above shows.

Aw c'mon. He's having fun in his little fantasy world. He's king of
all Hi Fi there and all his friends spend their time going out of
rooms and coming back in again while he changes cables and things so
they can all be amazed when they come back. Of course, now he has been
told the story about how your wife hears the difference from the
hallway as she comes back in from shopping, we can probably expect
that one to be used as well. Won't be for a while though, because it
needs to be fitted into the rest of the fantasy.

Love these swipes at mention of the 'wifey' - I don't see the problem, my
other half has got a better musical ear than I have and isn't saddled with
the luggage of knowing what kit's on most of the time...!!

Right, that's me - curry's up now!!

(Then it'll be a vinyl evening on the *valves*, of course....!! :-)

It's called self-delusion.
