Heck, some of the most enjoyable musical experiences I can recall were
in the
damn CAR ! Graham

You do realise your car engine has valves in it.

Shouldn't you be *soldering* summat....???

I have - built a power supply. I then got diverted and rebuilt my other
DHT balanced preamp because my brother has the other one on loan. This
time I put in a Lundahl LL1689 transformer - sounds nice and I have
music again. I was using my older 12b4 preamp as a stand in, but
started to miss the DHT sound. These are all balanced, since they are
driven by a balanced Chris Found V-DAC4. I've been all balanced since I
started using the balanced DAC, which is quite some time now. It makes
a big difference to detail and tone. Sitting here listening to Morph
the Cat! Nice sounds. I needed to try out a few things, construction
wise, and also test the umbilical between the PSU and the preamp. I'm
going to have to put a fair bit of time into my work since I wrote an
MA course and it's starting on October 2nd, so I'm responsible for
organising it all. Will continue with the build though! Have no fear.

Definition of a well-balanced Yorkshireman - one with a chip on *both*
shoulders...!! ;-)
