Default Mic comparison

I have been fiddling around comparing the mics I have here atm and so have
posted three short (identical?) *open mic* recording extracts onto my Show N
Tell page, in case they may be of interest to anyone:

Vivanco EM216 lapel mic:

http://www.apah69.dsl.pipex.com/show...%20Extract.mp3

Behringer ECM8000 'measuring' mic:

http://www.apah69.dsl.pipex.com/show...%20Extract.mp3

Oktava MK319 large condesner mic:

http://www.apah69.dsl.pipex.com/show...%20Extract.mp3

An almost totally pointless exercise - comparing an apple with a banana and
a pear, but it has satisfied my curiosity!

Do allow for the room sonics, of course....

Meant to say - they are *dual mono* to keep them all the same (only the one
Behringer here)....

Hmm interesting site. Have you seen that Bozzio drum kit. Crazy kit,
crazy guy.

Back to the guitar recordings - at least it shows the Oktava is as a
minimum very decent.

I believe it is and I certainly like the 'sound of my own voice' with them!

But, having said that, these arrived this morning:

...and I have to say, for what they cost, I'm very impressed*!!

Haven't heard them yet but if they ain't no good I'll chuck the mics away
and use the case/accessories for summat better at a later date!! :-)

(Fekkin' Chinks - you just can't get away from them!!)

* Ordered them from http://www.nusystems.co.uk/ yesterday afternoon and they
were on my doorstep at 8:00 am this morning 20 quid cheaper than Digital
Village!!

What do you mean by 'open mic', Keith?
