Default DAB gets real....??

Love it or hate it, I see the price of DAB radios has dropped below 30 quid
now at places like Currys!

(I thought they'd catch on in the end - when they woke up to the fact they
were mostly competing with a perfectly acceptable 7 quid Murphy FM from
Argos!! :-)

Ignoring the sound quality (as I have never head one), its still a tad
irrelevent to me, as I can't recieve any of the BBC multiplexs where I
live.

You're not missing anything - it's just another implementation of the
'removal of noise, artefacts, life, realism by digitisation' syndrome that
has been slow to start due to the high, initial prices of the hardware, but
which is resulting in further lowering of *quality standards* in favour of
'greater choice for a greater market'.

(IOW, turning radio broadcasting into just another advertising vehicle....)

Never mind. Perhaps the council will re-house you onto a richer estate.

Course theres a natural aversion by the British about a satellite dish.
Over there in the rest of Europe there're seen as a functional thing for
the TV and Radio, but over here its a class symbol to which no one
aspires

Still mines in the backyard where it can't be seen

And brings in hundreds of Radio and TV channels even more probably...
