I gotta give these boyz a mention:
KMR Audio:

After some 'research' here I grabbed a couple of the ****ty, crude, cheap
Oktava MK319 mics* from KMR Audio and it has turned out they are 'out of
phase with each other...!!! (Big surprises all round and I bet a few
wiseacres here will tap their noses about Russian products....?? :-)
Anyway, on their own it represented no big problem, but with the arrival of
a pair of equally cheap *blameless* (in phase) Chinese mics, one of the
Oktavas is definitely the odd man out now and is probably going to have to
have its neck wrung.
Now, I'm a queer old coot and I don't want to just fire the thing back for
exchange because I don't like *replacements* if they can be avoided - you
spend the rest of your time with them making silly, invidious comparisons
with the *memory* of one you had and sent back, if nothing else...
So I speak to Niki at KMR to ask about the 'disassembly' of the odd one - he
confirmed it's unlikely to be a simple 'bottom off' affair and that the
whole gubbins (diaphragm and everything) will probably have to be drawn....
'Ooh, ********' sez I..... (Getting a little bit of a sweat on...)
He said 'go for it' and if you can't fix it, just send it all back and I'll
send you out another one - my bloke can have that one to sort out!
Feck! How much more could you ask for...??
* ****ty - really? Crude - really?
