Demagnetize your LPs
An amazing device that just makes your music sound better, it also works
on CDs, DVDs, even your interconnects and speaker wire.
Go on, you know it'll make your music sound better.
You can read more

It featured on JREF today, and Jandi has offered them the $1M challenge.
Does anyone actually believe this crap works?

Yes, the sort that bought marker pens to draw on CDs, people that used to
put CDs in the freezer and the complete idiots that will spend hundreds on
interconnecting leads in the belief they improve quality!
The funniest con I saw was "special sand" for sticking inside speaker stands
to improve audio quality and clarity! I nearly fell over laughing.
So long as daft people will believe anything they are told - there will
always be a market and people getting rich quick. One example is speaker
cable, don't spend £40/metre, buy some 6mm mains cable.

6mm? It'll not fit any terminals and looks ridiculous.

If you actually end up with a length/impedance situation that requires cable
that large, splice short lengths of smaller wire to the ends. But you're
right, then it will look even more rediculous.

Arny. You should be ashamed of yourself, editing Mr. Plowman's post
and putting in spelling mistakes!
I have a bunch of screw-on banana plugs which will take 6mm diameter
cable, if I want to use jumpstart cable for my ESLs.
I suspect that djc was talking about cross sectional area though.

No, just a matter of being poorly-informed. Thanks for the correction.

Agreed. 6mm==2 awg. Unless you're running 25,000W/chan, is gross
overkill.

If you were in the situation where 6mm speaker cable was necessary - site
the amps close to the speakers and use balanced connections between
pre-amp and amps.

Heh heh - I didn't notice that. Spool cheekers rool...

Wonder what the gauge of the internal wiring is. ;-)
I suspect that djc was talking about cross sectional area though.
Indeed. But for the benefit of others, 6mm² TW&E mains cable would be
cooker cable - you'll not easily find mains flex of that size.

Yup. For just about any domestic installation 2.5mm² is more than adequate.
