I'm trying to capture streaming audio from Radio 7. I have a Toshiba
Qosmio with sound card. it has Windows XP MCE. I'm using Audacity but
the only input options are Line In / Mixed / Mic. Unfortunately when I
try and record the audio stream this is played through the built-in
speakers, and the sound is then picked up by the in-built mic. Whe
played back the recording has extraneous noises and echoes on it - from
the mic. What I need is for Audacity to take the input direct from the
sound card. But I can't work out how to do this. Please can someone
help. Many thanks - SB.

Normally you'd select the input from the sound device which you want to record. It
appears your selection is currently the Microphone input.
Why not select Line-In?

Total Recorder is excellent but does cost a few $s

Seconded. I use Total Recorder all the time for this. Works great.
