Yes exactly - I simply can't think what on earth would be the benefit!
As Don says - if it's a valve amp there's already a transformer.

Perhaps it is to add that nice bit of non-linearity to ss amps to make
them sound good... ;-)


I'm sure there are quite a few sis amps that wouldn't take kindly to a
transformer on their output either.
