Here's one for ya, Plowie - earlier this evening I caught a few moments
of Da Biw' (not my TV - I was out visiting) and, ignoring the hideous
Chavvy dreck that programme patently is (I always knew it was), I hafta
say the sound quality was excellent (crystal clear dialogue) - that
your doing?
I'd give you an answer if I knew just what you're talking about.
Reminds me - heard any early Doctor Who (circa Jon Pertwee) - the
'location' recording is dire beyond belief!!
More likely the post production process of the inserts. Multiple
generations on sep-mag (magnetic coated film) often produced pretty dire
results. In theory it could be quite good, but theory and practice don't
always coincide. Chances are the 1/4" rushes were ok.
