Biwiring with Nordost
On a recent trip to the US I bought a set of Nordost Blue Heaven RevII
speaker cables at a very good price. The only problem I have with them is that they are not set up for biwiring. Does anyone have any experience of changin connectors on Nordost flat cables. At face value it should be straight forward but I don't want to start hacking the cable about until I am sure what the procedure is. It could be a very expensive mistake!! |

Sell them to an audiophool and use any reasonably sturdy cable for your speakers. It will sound exactly the same, and you'll have money in your pocket. Here here! And whilst you're at it, don't bother with bi-wiring, it *can't* make a difference unless the cable is very thin in the first place. 15 amp mains cable is perfectly good for normal domestic lengths. Nordost cables are very difficult for amateurs to work with and bi-wiring is likely to offer minimal differences in most systems. -- Trevor Wilson www.rageaudio.com.au -- Posted via a free Usenet account from http://www.teranews.com |

Or merely warn about using esoteric cables that might have excessively high inductance? |

Can you name a maker who's amp isn't happy with standard cable of a suitable loop resistance? -- *I almost had a psychic girlfriend but she left me before we met * Dave Plowman London SW To e-mail, change noise into sound. |
