Default Quad FM4 Battery - M12615-3

Does anyone know where I may buy a replacement battery (or one of
alternative spec) for my FM4.
My tuner has been laid up for about five years and no longer holds any
preset stations.

I read somewhere that it's rechargeable but mine no longer holds it's
charge.

It's marked on the cicuit board as M12615-3

Thanks,

M

The schematic shows it to be 4.8V, so I guess that is three cells in
series. Can you find any that would fit physically?

I suggest you contact QUAD. They may charge a bit more for the part, but
you're sure of getting the right one.

I replaced mine a little while ago with a Varta 4/V150H mempac, CPC part
number BT00153:

http://cpc.farnell.com/jsp/endecaSea...sp?SKU=BT00153

Also there's:

http://www.batterytastic.co.uk/Searc...all=4/V150H/2P

http://www.batteries-online.co.uk/d/...xx_210 15.htm

And RS have them too.

I am told that the Quad-sourced parts are potted to minimize the risk
of leakage so that may be a good reason to go directly to Quad.

Quad's price for the FM4 battery kit is £18.59plus VAT and p&p.

I used the CPC Varta Cell as above for £4.31 +P&P + VAT.

Works just fine......

Sigh.......Ever heard of a Company called Quad? Believe it or not, but they have a service dept. and are able to supply parts for
Quad products such as the FM4 tuner. They even have a website and contact details. I'll leave you to figure out how to find it.
Hint: Google.
Failing that, if it isn't too much of an effort, and assuming you could find their website, maybe you could buy the battery from
Farnell Electronics - part number 863970.
