I'm sure it sounds pretty much as it looks. Unfortunately...

You'll never make an audiophile, Pearce. You fail to understand the
first rule: You must suffer for your music.

The big cupboard looking thing in the middle rear is the bass cab.......

Or the second rule: And your family must suffer with you.

Otherwise how will you know you're an audiophile and not just some
fool with more money than sense?

What, only a single bass cabinet? That will never do.......

Mmm. Considering that horns derive their spinechilling authority from
being point source speakers, the designer of the Aventegard went wrong
already when he flattened the response by using several drivers and
probably lots of electronics for crossovers. After that a separate
bass cabinet hardly matters, and two of those bass cabinets would pass
the Zipser test: your *commitment* to your music is measured by how
much money you spend.

Zipser, for those who don't know but will suffer street cred anxiety
if they don't know more about any subject than I do, was a main man on
rec.audio.high-end (RAH-E) who sold Nelson Pass gear, among others. He
would chide folk with budgets that didn't reach the brands he sold
with insufficient commitment to their music. A surprising number bent
over for Zip right out in public, proving once more that P T Barnum
was right. Eventually Zip was disgraced as a direct result of
believing his own audiophool patter: he accepted a challenge to tell
the difference between some overpriced cables he sold and zip cord (no
pun intended, at least not by him); he failed, of course.

It reinforces the old saying " An (audio)phool and his money are soon

http://www.avantgarde-acoustic.de/index1.php?sprache=en

click on Horns nr top left then on bass horn nr bottom right and finally on
specifications at the left. Each square of the bass cab is a seperate active
bass speaker with a 12" driver with 4" voice coil! all six as in the photo
gives you 1.7Kwrms of bass from 250Hz to 18Hz..... being German and with
such big horns I bet ooompah music really stands out on these :-)
