OK, it's a bit quiet in here and the weather's ****e again, so here's a
little *link rich* Indoor Fun Pack with a couple of 'wobbycam' gems from
the past for your delight and delectation and to pass the time:

These snippets....

http://www.apah69.dsl.pipex.com/show/Ricochet.wmv

http://www.apah69.dsl.pipex.com/show/MerryGoRounds.wmv

are Joan Regan and (where applicable) the 'Squadronaires' - see:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joan_Regan

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Squadronaires

(Some might say Doris Day done *right* but I wouldn't care to comment.
Also, tonearm buffs please note that the minimalist 'straight stick' arm
on these old Lencos will let even a knackered old G800 ride just about
*any* groove with little or no antiskate!)

Now, that's the fun part - down to business: Let's have a check on the
'fidelity' - anyone care to stab a guess as to who's singing this:

http://www.apah69.dsl.pipex.com/show/Inchworm.wmv

??

Answers on a postcard....

No idea, I only ever saw that once in 'White Christmas' when I wuz a
little kid and my dad took me to the cinema in (Old) Welwyn - I remember
I greatly preferred 'Davy Crockett, KOTWF' and 'Cockleshell Heroes' at
the time...!!

Never made it more than ten minutes into White Christmas. Too much
saccharin right from the start.

"White Christmas" used to be (and perhaps still is) the best-
selling single of all time. Thousands and thousands of copies
each year.

Decca of course:-)))

A mere 7 million copies margin.
Just give it a couple more Christmases and Bing will be back
on top:-)

He recorded for several labels, with leased deals.
I engineered a Decca album for him in 1975
called "A Southern Memoir"

A truly great artist.
He said of Frank Sinatra: "Frank is the kind of artist
born once in a lifetime. Wht did it have to be in mine:-)"
