huge fire in the petrol-soaked rag storage depot was a dropped

But a cigarette won't ignite petrol. The match that lit it will,
though.

A cigarette end can destroy a dry rag or paper. I couldn't get any
flames
but there was plenty of smoke and a red glow. So the problem in the
hypothetical depot is that someone let the rags dry out. :-)

OK, I'm going to try this in a little while - I didn't see a petrol
forecourt yet without a 'No Smoking sign' on it! I *know* you can
extinguish a cigarette in diesel, but I can't say from first hand that
a cigarette would *definitely* set fire to a petrol-soaked rag!

Maybe a little movie?

We'll see - could be fun...!!

:-)

Actually, it was a bit of a non-event and the ciggie *didn't* set the
rag on fire!! I did - with a lighter at the end of this clip which I
buggered up fishing for the lighter while I was squatting down!

Think how empty your life would be if I didn't post interesting stuff

Now gimme a bit of space, Plowie - I've got a nasty rash developing on
my ankles and I think it's you.....

You wouldn't *have* any ankles, Keithie baby, if I decided to bite.

Don't take an old car to a filling station. If you start one in darkness
and look you'll see sparks from the starter motor commutator and also from
the dynamo if it's on full charge. So for safety it should be pushed well
clear of the pumps before starting.

OK, the trouble with a bit of *pyro* is it gets interesting! :-)

Here's me lobbing a ciggie straight into petrol:

http://www.apah69.dsl.pipex.com/show..._In_Petrol.wmv

Here's me trying to get the petrol going with a burning rag (bit
wobbly - not easy when you're trying to film it at the same time):

Here's the 'Big Finish':

(Sodding 'unleaded' - no wonder it's a struggle to get a bit of speed up
at times!! ;-)

Every area has it's good and bad points. I'm sure the quality of life is
nice and tranquil in the Fens. Unfortunately, there's a price to pay for
living away from civilisation.

Pay up or move, I say.

M8? That's in Scotland. This is getting confusing.

It's near as damn it, old chap; same part of the world. My argument still
stands. If you live away from civilisation, you can't expect the same
advantages.

I still think you are Keira, but I'll address the point you are making -
you are suggesting the sales guy asks the customer if he is from 'out of
town' and hits him with a surcharge if the answer's 'yes' then?
