Default Cartridge attachment

The old (Shure) cartridge I use has two clear holes for fixing it into the
headshell of the arm. The actual headshell has one clear hole. So I also
have an adaptor plate which has tapped holes. (Or nuts in captive slots.
Can't recall which, and they are hidden in use!)

I have been looking at modern cartridges and noticed that it is common for
them to have blind tapped holes for fixing purposes.

So, do cartridge manufacturers now routinely supply adaptors for headshells
and arms that *don't* have two clear holes/slots?

Slainte,

Jim
