As a rule, they don't.
Really good sounding venues have never been all that common.
I've been at any number of live events that made me desperately wish for
my home audio system.
Hence my use of parenthesis. Liking a particular sound is subjective and
influenced by a number of things - like say an appreciative audience
around you. Or equally likely an annoying one. Think we've all heard
technically perfect recordings that are boring as hell but been enchanted
by a less than perfect live performance.
However any opinion is as valid as another in this sort of matter as it's
all down to personal choice in the end.

That is correct.
Really good sounding venues have never been all that common.
Comparison of a live pop performance with a recorded
version of the same titles will reveal that (of necessity) a very
large proportion of tracked material is absent, i.e multi-
layered vocals etc.
Classical concerts and recordings can take place in the same
venue, and may sound very similar. The main difference is the
lack of coughing in the audience, and wrong notes/poor intonation
from the orchestra which has been corrected in inserts takes.
I've been at any number of live events that made me desperately wish for
my home audio system.
But the excitement of a live concert, the visual reference etc,
can make it something very special indeed.

Well he certainly wasn't on sci.electronics.repair where he tried to throw
his weight around via crossposts from here. And made an absolute fool of
himself. And made it very clear in his latest post that he considers ura
his own 'personal property' where he should be the despot.

Sorry to cut you short Arny. Before you delude
yourself any further, you may wish to research the

Debrett's
Burke's Peerage
Fairburn's.

Phrasing does not construe. :-)
About 76/77 when the LP12 ruled the world HFN carried a review of the
then new Delphi turntable and introduced the article by mentioning that
an American mag (forgot which) had claimed that the Delphi was 742?
times better than the LP12 this claim was based on a comparison of the
bearing machining tolerances. HFN liked the delphi but thought that it
didn't carry a tune quite as well, the beginnings of PRAT perhaps. I've
lustd after an Oracle since. At the time I hadn't subscribed to the
front end philosophy and was using a Philips GA212 Shure N75e with a
Pioneer SA9500 and Leak 2060's.
