Low power consumption 5.1 amp/receiver
I have an Onkyo TX-SR674E AV Receiver which has loads of inputs
including HDMI.
However, these days I only ever use the tuner and one of the digital
inputs with my 5.1 speaker system. I have been running the video
through the receiver but now my only video source is a MythTV frontend
with DVI output which can go direct to the TV.
So basically all I need is a 5.1 receiver to feed the speakers with the
digital output from the MythTV frontend and the tuner.
The Onkyo puts out a lot of heat, I assume with a corresponding power
draw, and takes up a lot of space, so I was looking to buy a
replacement.
Most reviews I've seen focus on how many features it has and the quality
of sound, without any mention of power usage and heat output.
Does anyone have any recommendations?
The minimum specs a
1. Dolby 5.1 and DTS
2. One Digital Coax Input
3. FM Tuner (more of a very nice to have)
4. Doesn't cost the earth!
Are there even any Dolby decoders that don't have video inputs, which I
have no intention of using?
Thanks in advance,
Dave.
