Hi All,

There are quite a number of radio programs which I would like to record, to
hear at a different date/time. At the present time my NTL/Virgin + box will
not record radio programs, so is there anything on the market which will
perform in a similar way ? I believe you can do this with Sky+, but what may
be of interest is the freesat PVR's when they appear ?

I notice some of the Ipod type units have built in DAB and can record, but
do they have a date/time/station function ?

I would like to playback the recording through the hifi so looking to record
at a similar quality to Radio 3 and Classic FM via DAB.

Your thoughts please ?

USB Freeview tuner in a PC, assuming the radio channel you want is
available.
The software should have a timed record function.

Use my Topfield PVR all the time for this.

Only stupid point is I have to remember to leave it switched on -
otherwise when it does out of standby to record it switches on the TV...

I had a Pure DAB microsystem (DMR50 IIRC) that allowed scheduled
recordings to a SD card. Worked fine, but rather dependent on the amount
of schedule data, and the small screen interface made booking a
recording tricky - I had to get the manual out each time.

As suggested elsewhere, a PVR with its 7 day schedule could be the way
to go if you have a TV aerial, and it's possible to hook it up to the TV
(so you can see what you're scheduling etc) and hifi. Humax and Topfield
are good - I prefer the Humax. Higher (than DAB) bitrates too.

I use a PACE TWIN PVR for this. It works fine, and you can record for later
playback, or just time-delay, and as it has two tuners, you can record one
programme, (TV or radio) whilst watching/listening to another.

Indeed - cheaper than the Topfield or Humax, but without the possible
benefit of a USB connection, should you want to save the recording.

That's true, but it does have a digital output so you can copy to a PC for
CD burning etc. , albeit in real time.
