Might be of interest to anyone considering the DIY approach to speakers.

Hi Steve
Interesting reading, I many years ago built the TL speakers of Chris
Roger's fame, basically a copy of Cambridge R50's ,I believe they are
still going strong ,

At that time I was part of a company called Enigma Audio based in
Brighton, we built high quality Pre and Power Amps, Preferred by many in
blind listening tests to the Nap 250 etc.

On the repair front did you not think of refoaming your midrange drivers ,
I have just done that my Kef 105/3's bass drivers. All 4 of them, the
results were well worth the effort

Just for the record I obtained my parts from

Thanks for the link, bookmarked for future reference, just in case.

No I didn't think of having the drivers refoamed as I'd wrongly assumed that
parts for a 30 year old unit would be unobtainable. It was only after I'd
ordered and fitted the replacement drivers that re-foaming services where
brought to my attention by the imf-electronics yahoo group.

I have nowt to with this company but Greg Barnes is a jolly
nice guy to deal with
