A Cable test on Stereo Net Australia.
A subjective test by experts of the SNA inner circle
A while ago someone suggested that a set of Turkish made interconnects and speaker cables be tested and assessed by a group of know-it-alls on SNA (Stereo Net Australia). They (the SNA overlords) thought about it for a while to try and decide who was proficient and suitably qualified (who were the suck holes actually?) and who wasn't to test these wonders of Turkish delight. The SNA inner circle can do no wrong, so who better to deliberate the fate of these wonder cables? After all, we can't have any old rubbish assessing them, can we? They might just tell the truth and we can't have that, can we? Where would snake oil pedlars be with nothing to sell? So a list was drawn up, of highly proficient audiophiles (Cough! Cough!) who, no doubt, have far superior hearing to the rest of us. After much deliberation it was decided on how the cables would travel and more importantly who would get to test them. Many people were ignored or told they lived too far away and so, only the trusted inner circle (mates of Aslan?) prevailed. Trouble was one bloke kept the things for something like 3 months and then they were mysteriously damaged in transit. Of course nothing was said, why would it, he's a special member with his XYZ posts to his credit. And if you can't find someone to blame for the damage, blame the government, Australia Post are just up to the standard of these Knob Heads The rules where set, once you had auditioned these wonders you would post them on to the next expert and forward a report to the forum. Trouble was, the guy running the thing was a complete ****-wit and surprise, surprise these $500+ wonders did not come with instructions on how to plug them in! What a complete joke! Supply directional, shielded cables without any instructions or markings!!!!! Ha! We're off to a flying start already, And if that wasn't good enough reason for the stuff up, this little monument to stupidity was posted by the owner/maker of these modern wonders. QUOTE, The SilverFi interconnects are more than `directional` as can be read on my website. They can only be used in one way. Red goes to input and blue to the output. I can say that they are NOT MY cables if used in the opposite direction. So `junkmail`s feedback (or any other auditioners` who did the same thing) on the interconnects is not valid. I recommend any other SNA auditioner not to disclose any commentary on the interconnects who used them without knowing the directionality. Since I am not allowed to cite my website please go to 6moons.com reviews (Please also go to page 1 of this SNA thread and read my post regarding other reviews) to find out and please read the sections of my SilverFi Cable blogspot regarding directionality, model names, prices and the philosophy of the design. Unquote This was followed by this little gem of the modern world.. QUOTE, My interconnects being cited as `directional` has more than what it is thought in the scheme. As I have said earlier the conductors' sections along the path and ratio/treatment of ingredients of the alloy changes. In plain words if it is an orange (red input side) from the start it turns out to be an apple in the end (blue output side). Do not want more, it is a matter of my little production secret. __________________ Sezai Saktanber SilverFi Cable UNQUOTE. This was reported AFTER the tests where finished.. not too bright really when you consider the price, Still some people do need instructions on how to plug in a plug.. dur. I just had a look at the Website and there is a claim that the cables need burn-in and improve all the way up to 600 hours! Can anyone explain what is happening during burn-in? perhaps at the atomic level ?? So perhaps, after all, the guy that kept them for 3 months was merely following instructions and burning them in? J It now ends up the test was null and void. A total farce and a failure. So where to now? But not to worry, The pompous arse that runs the site "KEITH W", then wrote this , Talk about covering your arse. Suck. Suck. It's since been removed, wonder why? All right. Saktanbers was kind enough to lend us the cables for us to try. I feel embarrassed for SNA because: - we kept the cable 3 times as long as we were supposed to. One member in particular could not get organized enough to pass the cable on, and as a result held everyone up. - as a result, the cables did not reach everyone who volunteered. - it is my understanding that the cables were damaged whilst in transit. - and NOW we are attacking saktanbers. MC240, care to clarify what you mean by "what a joke"? What exactly is the joke, because I don't see any humor in it. I think that saktanbers could have been clearer with his instructions on how to correctly hook up the cables (judging only from the posts above), as a result the auditioning did not go to his satisfaction. Also, I think that we made clear before we started that Saktanbers should be prepared to accept any and all feedback, positive or negative. I don't think he has any cause to complain if people were dissatisfied with the cable. We are not here to slap each other on the back and praise audio equipment unquestioningly, but I think that the behaviour of some of the members has crossed the line of good manners. This was another comment that was removed, unfortunately not quite quick enough for the great unwashed to gather and relay here. Better luck next time Keith'ee baby. Quote, I am ashamed at the lact of tact, manners and common courtesy displayed by some on any thread relating to others opinions. "burn in" "directional or not" who gives a flying rats if you agree with a given theory or not, there are other 'threads' were you can vent your spleens guys. __________________ do you want a review or a snow job.. UNQUOTE. He's probably been cast into the pit with the rest of the reprobates, never to be heard from again. Welcome to the club son, take a number. It was understood that the cable owner Saktanbers, would except any comments by the reviews, be it good, bad, or plain bloody ugly, But it is now reported that sanktanbers has accused people of posting 'hate letter' type stuff about his and his products. Just perhaps they do things differently in Turkey.. Unfortunately this is one comment that failed to see the light of day on there little "O So Nice" forum. But not on this board. You wanna say it. We will read it. This towelhead snake oil peddler has done this on other forums. He joins up and within hours after joining suggests members audition his cables. He then hopes they will receive favorable appraisal and then uses this as free worldwide advertising. If he was indeed interested in getting honest object feedback on his product he should take all reasonable comments on board and act on those comments appropriately. Instead he attacks anyone who hasn't kissed his Turkish fat arse. Just perhaps someone should ask this clown and his battalion of suck-hole Moderators and Sponsors what they have against writing the truth. And the bloke that wrote the first glowing report was upgraded to Moderator, for all his trouble. Just remember Son, always cloud the truth with bull**** and you will go far. As for these cables of monolithic proportions and cost here's a price list for anyone busting to get there grubby little hands on them. It was reported that these demo leads would be for sale after the trial, regardless of damage and without written instructions. Of course they would be cheaper and there would not be a postal charge [we think] but that's possibly subject to further negotiation and you don't tell anyone else what you paid. After all, not everyone can say they bought a busted set of leads from someone in Turkey, now can they? ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Interconnects (appr. 90-100 cm. each): Shaman SE (with Eichmann Silver Bullets) 349.- USD. 546 aust $ Phrygian SE ....................................... 299.- USD. 468 aust $ Moonshadow....................................... 449.- USD. 703 aust $ Speaker Cable: Moonstar SC. 3meters. (890.- USD. 3 meters stereo pair) 1394 aust $ __________________________________________________ __________________________________ That was followed by this, just to make you feel better, QUOTE, In the context of high postal charges to Turkey from Australia, I prefer to offer a substantial reduction in prices of these cables for the prospective buyers. Interested parties could contact(mail) me or David Ward for the details. UNQUOTE At those high prices postage should be free, So he's not only getting at you with his high prices, providing they come with instructions, he's also getting a second bite with postal charges, and anything over twenty bucks is a rip off Anyway here's the link, unless they have it hidden behind closed doors for Knob heads with more money then brains, to read and nod there little heads in agreement. http://www.stereo.net.au/forums/showthread.php?t=12364 This little Dog is quite happy with his home made **** from WES Components, thanks very much. .. Thanks also go to the other people that assisted me with this little monument to the truth. Something which KEITH W and his little band of Pixies have a lot of trouble excepting. So while they float away on their little ego clouds, the rest of us will just have to make do with the TRUTH Bassett |
