I don't see it like that. What we are now seeing on UKRA has
been seen frequently on other groups where PA has a presence..
In my view, Phil has been treated with remarkable restraint by

You've got me there Iain, I can't think of anything - ever! Although I
will grant you he does attempt the occasional troll so he can start a

I am thinking about a discussion on transformers, in which
Phil provided some very interesting data. But as usual, the
thread disintegrated when after about three posts, he was
no longer able to discuss in a rational way. This is a great
pity, as it destroys his own credibility, and reflects badly on
the group where he is posting.

Something that baffles me is his pride in claiming to have
"destroyed" this or that group, which is of course, purely
a figment of imagination. People simply carry on the
discussion "offlist" by e-mail, until the waters have calmed
a little -and so the group discussion appears to have dwindled.


He will *always* with in 3 posts start the abuse! And beware if you are
female or have any qualifications as it goes straight for the jugular ;-)

What everyone loses sight of is you are trying to communicate with a
genuinely damaged individual. IMHO he has forgone all considerations of
decency until he actively seeks professional treatment for his Bipolar
(and what ever else he suffers from) condition.

stage. That is, until he proved to be so predictable it
ceased to be fun. Pavlov really didn't need dogs, just
Philthy ;-) Ring his little bell and he just blunders in,

As long as we all know exactly what
he is and that he can be safely ignored as and when we
choose, it is
fine.

That is the way to handle it. He is only a menace when
anyone actually takes him seriously or stops treating him as
the joke he really is.
