Weighing in at a modest 75 Kg. I notice they don't quote a price. I suspect it's
in the 'If you have to ask you can't afford it' category.

Default Which Blu Ray Player?

I am looking to buy a Blu Ray player. My question is: Can I find a blu
ray player that will be as good playing CD's as it will be for DVD's and
Blu Ray discs, or will I need to purchase a separate CD player? I am not
sure whether the quality components built into a $1000 blu ray player
will also be as good for CD's? Any opinions or suggestions would be
greatly appreciated.

At the risk of dragging this thread back closer on topic I'd like to raise
something I have just learned about 'Blu Ray' which I find a deterrent to
using it.

This is reports that the discs can block the player from resuming play if
you stop playing. i.e. You are not able to go away for some time (say
until the next day) and then pick up watching directly from where you
stopped. The idea apparently that the makers of each disc an force you to
sit though all the start up crap every time.

Whereas with DVDs I often watch a section on different days or view other
things in between, with each disc being restarted from where I paused. If
this isn't the norm for Blu Ray then I will continue to avoid it!

Slainte,

Jim

Just asked my son as he has two blue ray players one installed in computer
and the other stand alone

both allow to pick up from where you last was watching no need to watch
start up crap

some dvd players try to make you watch adverts and copy warning adverts
before they will let you watch the film

there is one brand of dvd player that will you to over ride any adverts I am
sure someone will know the name I am off to find it out
