It was broadcast on Friday Night is Music Night on 15th December. The
year was any of 2006, 2000, 1995, 1989.

Don't know which year, but they all had 15th December fall on a
Friday.

Gosh, that brings back memories:-) Is it still running?
When I was a nipper it used to be Sydney Torch conducting
the BBC Concert orchestra, with two guest singers - Adele
Leigh was often one of them - plus a military band. The
Coldstream Guards and Royal Signals were always my
favourites:-)

Iain, if you want my own opinion - the 'wireless' is still far and away the
best 'entertainment source' of them all!

It was good then (very) and it ain't too bad now - even with the sodding
adverts on CFM, which I hafta say is frequently so sublime in the evening
(different entirely from the daytime crap) almost the entire evening gets
taken over by it!!

Sorry, I couldn't stand 'em, but Journey Into Space was *brilliant* -
there's been nothing to touch it ever since!!

Although the age and source means many of them have beat whistles from
adjacent MW broadcasts!

Must get around to transcribing the tapes sometime...

You mean Bill Oddie's dreadful racist jokes?

I noticed that Radio 7's versions of 'Knowing Me, Knowing You' were a minute
or so shorter than the original. I must compare the two some time to see
if it was censored or just had the boring bits cut to fit the time
available.
