Dodgy mics for sale!

Not according to last nights news. EMI denied that they had put Abbey Road
up for sale. BTW the studios have now received a Grade II listing.

Pleased to hear it:-) Reports of the sale were
included in the BBC World News two weeks or
so ago.
But, I wonder why Sir Paul McCartney has
expressed a need to put together a consortium to
buy something that is not for sale?

There certainly was a rumour circulation to the effect that the studios were
about to be put up for sale in. Whether EMI actually did intend to do so,
but changed their minds and then pretended that they never had is something
only an EMI insider could answer.

But piracy is rife - it's so easy:-)
Oh yes, 'digital' quick, easy and cheap - three *sure fire* ways to make
absolutely certain summat isn't worth bothering with in this life.....

We'll they say on the news that it isn't being sold?..

Is an interesting corollary - far more drastic than the comparatively
labour-intensive and slower 'taping music is killing the music industry'....

On our home brew band recordings, a mate and I used to put a skull and
crossbones symbol on the cover, with the line "home taping is skill in
music".

The record industry seem to be blaming piracy for its
troubles. EMI, who were strongly in favour of DRM
seem to have turned 180 degrees, and are now talking
about combatting illegal copying by making legal material
readily available at reasonable cost by convenient methods.
