Cheers

Ian

Now if Tim De Paravicini wrote it I might be tempted....

Do you expect he'd explain things like how to unpot his transformers so you
can see their construction? IIRC he has said he puts hardened steel balls
into the pot mix to stop any other engineer from examining his work. So I
guess he prefers to be a 'guru wizard' with his 'magic secrets' rather than
someone willing to explain the details of engineering. If so, not what I'd
look for in the author of a technical textbook.

Slainte,

Jim

It was a tad tongue in cheek Jim

I used to sell transformers to Tim years ago when I worked for Clarke &
Smith (happy Vortexion days!)....

He literally used to draw his designs on the back of a fag packet
(just that one time though )

Aah Vortexion. A worthy name from the past:-)
I used to have a CBL6 and a Vortexion mixer!

That was pretty common. I knew a chap from Leevers Rich
who did the same thing, plus "shirt cuff" calculations!

Hope the designs didn't share the designer's habit of producing smoke. ;-

Slainte,

Jim

I'm not just being nostalgic here, but even cigarette packets
are not what they used to be:-)

You could slit an empty packet of Senior Service or Capstan Full
Strenth (remember those?) open with the butter knife, and sketch
the schematics for at least two amplifiers between the fish and the
meat course.

That's what I call a working lunch:-)

Halcyon days.

Iain
