Peter Andry was indeed one of the colourful
characters of the British recording industy.
Before going to EMI, he was at Decca
from 1953-1957 and even though
he had departed nearly ten years before I
joined the firm, people still talked of him
fondly, as one of the great producers.
He had clear undestanding of the
skills required of a record company
executive, a flair for dealing with people
and a nose for good business opportunities
It took a London cabby to beat him at
his own game:-))
