Some people may find the files I've just put up on my old University
website of interest. These are at
http://www.st-andrews.ac.uk/~www_pa/...ndm/intro.html
and are pdf versions of chapters from my book on 'Information an
Measurement'. They go though the basics like sampling theorem, noise in
amplifiers, etc. However please note that
1) The book is now getting 'old'. So some of the examples will seem out of
date. (In later lectures I did update examples.)
2) It is aimed at giving a progressive intro to the topics. So omits many
details, etc. Aimed at being a general intro, *not* a detailed examination
of topics like audio. So I'm sure there are simplifications and
approximations that will bother some readers. :-) But the contents should
serve as a starting point.
Slainte,
Jim
