Main use will be listening to music at home.
They need to be comfortable for extended periods when wearing glasses,
so ones that clamp like a vice to the head won't be suitable, and
lighter is better.
Sony MDR-ZX600 and Philips Downtown models look like the right kind of
thing, but it's difficult to judge.
... maybe everyone missed this last week - any advice?
The problem was encapsulated in your last comment. "difficult to judge".
Well, also whether open or closed - will you be lsitening with people
around you for example? I couldn't relax with closed headphones at home
- not being able to hear anything (the usual casual screams) would put
me on edge. But I can see why for others it might be an advantage ;-)

PX200-II These sit awkwardly on my ears. Not uncomfortable, but don't
'seal' the sound and have no real bass. Dislike for anything but quick
monitoring as the sound is poor *unless* I use my hands to keep them shoved
up against my ears. Has an in-cable volume control.
Ah well I quite like these - but I use them on buses etc, and recently
invested in the noise cancelling version, very good indeed.
I'd be reluctant to recommend headphones though - apart from the sound,
the comfort side of things is best evaluated in person.
