Default Quad FM4 Battery

I had the classic FM4 problem with the station presets not retaining the station frequency when the unit was switched off. I obtained and fitted a new battery about a month ago and all worked well. However two days ago the presets were again lost.

Anyone any views if this could just be a duff battery or is there another potential cause. For background information the unit was switched off for about 6 months up to December 2012. Before this the presets worked ok but afterwards they did not.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
