If you were choosing a tweeter as part of an active three way system
handling 3 kHz up, which one would you go for? Mid range is rated at
80w, bass 100w. Mustn't be delicate. ;-)

No thanks. ;-)

What bass and midrange units are you using?

Rogers 12" and Falcon copy of the KEF B110.

Sounds like you need a T27 - if they still exist, of course.

Are they up to this sort of power?

They were a pretty standard partner to the T110, so yes. The thing
about tweeter power is that in music it is almost entirely impulsive
- transients from cymbals and struck instruments. So an average power
rating doesn't mean too much.

They must have bought the tooling from KEF. It looks identical.

** HUH ???

The only *identical* thing is the diameter of the ****ing face plate
!!!!!!!

FYI:

28mm dia VC - not 20mm.

Aluminium VC former - not plastic/paper.

Fabric dome - not polyester.

Any 104mm dia tweeter would do as well.

The differing dB/watt figures are a worry too.

Yes, looks a lot like a KEF tweeter, a very good one, but not like a T27.

Not to worry, the only thing that makes him more angry than disagreeing or
being factually wrong is if you agree. Empirically determined.
